“Istanbul Enerji AŞ”, the subsidiary company of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality operating in the field of energy, continues its “energy”-themed meetings with industrialists’ associations and business people’s associations without slowing down.
ENERGY AGENDA WITH BEYSİAD FROM ISTANBUL ENERJİ
Istanbul Enerji hosted industrialists in an energy-related event organized in a hotel in Beylikdüzü on Wednesday, March 30, hosted by BEYSİAD-Beylikdüzü Industry and Business People’s Association. The event which started with the opening speech of BEYSİAD Chair Mr. Adnan Şahin, continued with the presentations of Beylikdüzü Mayor Mr. Mehmet Murat Çalık, Istanbul Enerji General Manager Mr. Yüksel Yalçın and Yıldız Technical University Lecturer Dr. Erhan Kurtarır. On the agenda, energy saving in buildings, energy efficient planning and climate change, European Green Consensus, reduction of fossil fuel consumption, installation and management of energy systems in industrial facilities were discussed.
Mr. Adnan Şahin, chair of BEYSİAD, who made the opening speech said, “We have scheduled this program in order to evaluate the energy issue which is one of the important agenda items of the business world with increasing energy prices and to inform our members about current developments. With the contributions of Istanbul Enerji which is also our member, we thought that such an event would be beneficial for our members in terms of both informing the industry and reducing energy costs. I am confident that Istanbul Enerji will make significant contributions to the industrialists of Beylikdüzü in the field of renewable energy.”
In his speech Mr. Mehmet Murat Çalık, the Mayor of Beylikdüzü, stated that they actively put climate change processes on the agenda, and conveyed the works of Beylikdüzü Municipality for energy saving. Mr. Çalık stated that; “We had solar efficiency measured on our own facilities. We started to work on the implementation of Solar Energy Systems in some of our service buildings. We are also working to include alternative energies in our own fields. On the other hand, we are implementing practices that encourage energy efficiency.” Mayor Mr.Çalık added that as Beylikdüzü Municipality, SECAP-Sustainable Climate Energy Action Plan studies will start in the coming days,and he added that they will carry out their plans in the field of Energy Efficiency and SPP together with Istanbul Enerji.
Mr. Yüksel Yalçın, General Manager of Istanbul Enerji said, “With the increasing energy prices, the issue of energy in businesses has become a very critical element in terms of both operating costs and competition. For this reason, our issue is not only the SPP, but also the Energy Management System. The sustainability of this system is the transformation of a systematic energy management system into a management model in enterprises. Mr. Yalçın emphasized the importance of energy efficiency studies in enterprises with Energy Management Offices, establishment of SPP systems, ensuring continuity of renewable energy studies, carbon customs practices, green building approach in buildings. Mr. Yalçın said, “At the same time, as a company with public obligations, we provide free information and engineering support to our industrialists in the region regarding their energy investments and management. One of the most important issues for us is to contribute to the implementation of the carbon neutral targets of Istanbul in cooperation with our local governments. We will try to organize these events in every district of Istanbul.”
Yıldız Technical University Lecturer Dr. Erhan Kurtarır made important shares with his presentation on Energy Efficient Planning and Climate Change.
Tahsin Öztiryaki, Chairman of IDDM Exporters’ Association, Mr. Muammer Ömeroğlu, Chairman of İSİFED, Mr. Adnan Keleşoğlu, Chairman of Beylikdüzü Organized Industrial Area, Mr. Adnan Keleşoğlu, Sander YKB Mehmet Kocasakal, Members of IMM and Beylikdüzü Assembly, Chairman of the board of directors of industrial estates in Beylikdüzü and NGOs attended the meeting. ISETAŞ, the energy supply company of IMM, also took part in the event. ISETAŞ executives informed the industrialists about energy supply solutions.
In the event where many industrial organizations were hosted, a cooperation protocol was signed between Istanbul Enerji General Manager Mr. Yüksel Yalçın and Mr. Adnan Şahin, Chairman of the Board of BEYSİAD with the content of “Energy Investments and Energy Efficiency Consultancy Service”.
