We inaugurated our “Energy Technologies R&D Unit” at the Technopark located on the Davutpaşa campus of Yıldız Technical University.
The opening ceremony was attended by the senior management of IMM, our management staff, the General Managers and executives of İgdaş, İsbak, Ugetam, which are our stakeholder subsidiaries in R&D activities, the Rector of YTÜ, the General Manager of Teknopark, scientists from the academic staff of many universities, managers of professional chambers and important names from technical-based non-governmental organizations. Following the opening speech and presentation of our General Manager Yüksel Yalçın, YTÜ Rector Tamer Yılmaz and IBB Energy Coordinator Dr. M. Bülent Özmen, who is also the General Manager of İgdaş, made speeches at the opening ceremony.
We Aim to Move Our Country Further in the Field of Energy Technologies
In his speech, Yüksel Yalçın, our General Manager, said: “Our aim is to develop our competencies in the field of renewable energy technologies through R&D collaborations with the academic environment of Yıldız Technical University and companies working in the field of energy in the Technopark, to train qualified human resources in this field, and to carry out joint studies in the field of energy with our other subsidiaries. Energy technologies and equipment are constantly being renewed with the development of technology, requiring more efficient, long- lasting and high quality equipment production. As a company that also produces energy in this sector, one of our basic policies is to position ourselves at the center of technological developments.”
In his speech, Yalçın shared that university collaborations are very important and said, “We want to strengthen our university-industry cooperation with technical and scientific principles and to carry out patent, utility model product and system studies. We aim to move our country further in the field of energy technologies bydeveloping national and international incentive-supported R&D projects on energy issues.
Taking Part in Technoparks is Very Important
Yalçın; R&D is a very important function for companies operating in the energy sector. This function turns into solutions that produce more qualified results in technoparks. For this reason, it is very important for us to take part in YTU Yıldız Technopark.”
Yalçın underlined that YTU Technopark is one of the most important technology bases in Turkey and stated that one of the main reasons for wanting to be located here is that it has been selected as the first Technopark of Turkey for 3 years. He added that we consider it very important to be located here.
Yalçın concluded his words by saying, “May our initiative be beneficial for our company and IBB big family.”
