9TH ICCI ENERGY AWARDS HAVE FOUND THEIR OWNERS!

Within the scope of the ICCI International Energy and Environment Fair and Conference, supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and EMRA, the energy sector came together at the ICCI Energy Awards Ceremony organized since 2011. This year, ICCI Energy Awards were given under 5 main categories: Conventional Power Plants, Renewable Energy Power Plants, Cogeneration Technology Special Award, Technology, Digitalization and Innovation Special Award, and Domestic Technology Leaders in Energy. The award ceremony was attended by Ziya Altunyaldız, Chairman of the TBMM Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Commission, Yüksel Yalçın, General Manager of Istanbul Energy, Yavuz Aydın, President of the Turkish Cogeneration Association, İzzet Alagöz, General Manager of Electricity Generation Corporation and many other guests.

We are hopeful that the benefits provided to the environment by the clean energy produced at Seymen Biomass Energy Production Facility in Silivri, the signature project of Istanbul Energy, will increase in the coming years.  The “Seymen Project”, for which we received the award, is Turkey’s biomass power plant with the highest installed capacity in a single center with 37 MW. With an installed capacity of 37 MW, it provides environmental benefits equivalent to the annual electricity needs of approximately 190,000 households (760,000 people), the prevention of methane gas emissions equivalent to 1.45 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) greenhouse effect equivalent to the carbon reduction of 37,000 trees, and the elimination of carbon emissions from 940,000 vehicles. A more livable future is possible in Turkey and in the world with renewable energy power plants, for this reason, as Istanbul Energy, we are rapidly moving forward in all fields of activity of renewable energy and serve with an agile approach.

Our award for the “Seymen Project” of Istanbul Energy, which received an award under the main title of Istanbul Energy Renewable Energy Power Plants at the ICCI Energy Awards Ceremony, was presented by Mr. Ziya Altunyaldız, Chairman of the TBMM Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Commission. On behalf of Istanbul Energy family, General Manager Yüksel Yalçın received the award and we are very happy to see the emphasis on renewable energy in this magnificent night.
