The Küçükçekmece Tracker Solar Power Plant, which became operational in July 2017, has an installed capacity of 10 kW. The total installation area of the plant is approximately 100 m².
To raise awareness about “Renewable Energy” in the green area in front of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Küçükçekmece Social Facility, 2 “Solar Tracking (Tracker) Dual-Axis Solar Energy Systems” with 5 kW installed capacity each, 2 “500 W Wind Turbines,” and 2 “USB-Charging Benches” were installed. The 500 W wind turbines installed in the green area charge batteries and supply power to LED fixtures on the same poles. Additionally, the USB-charging benches allow the public to charge devices such as phones and tablets using solar energy.
The 2 installed 5 kW tracker solar energy systems produce 13 MWh of electricity annually, which is used to meet the internal energy needs of the social facility.
The Küçükçekmece Tracker Solar Power Plant can supply the annual electricity needs of 8 households and prevents 6.8 tons of CO2 emissions per year. This is equivalent to removing 6 cars from traffic or planting 175 trees, providing significant environmental benefits.
We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
