Renewable energy is a type of energy derived from sustainable and environmentally friendly resources that can continuously replenish themselves through natural processes. Today, renewable energy sources are of vital importance in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions caused by fossil fuels, combating climate change, and ensuring energy supply security. In line with its sustainable urbanism approach, İstanbul Enerji develops and implements projects in the fields of solar energy, biomass energy, wind energy, and hydroelectric energy. Contributing to the increase of energy efficiency, reduction of carbon emissions, and effective utilization of natural resources through its renewable energy investments, İstanbul Enerji determinedly continues its efforts in line with Istanbul's goal of becoming a carbon-neutral and climate-resilient city by 2050.
We define our corporate responsibilities towards the environment and the world more effectively within the framework of the European Green Consensus policies and C40 Big Cities Climate Leadership Group meetings, and we take actions in line with these definitions in terms of the use of renewable energy sources.
We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
