As the subsidiary company of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality operating in the energy sector, we participated in the Wecycle Environment and Recycling Technologies Fair held at Fuar Izmir on May 12–14.
At the fair, where we were present with our team of expert engineers, we introduced visitors to our solar energy systems, Seymen Biomass Energy Production Plant, Şarjpark electric vehicle charging systems, mobile energy tower, energy efficiency consultancy services, and smart lighting systems.
In addition to local governments, companies engaged in recycling, environmental services, waste management, and renewable energy production also took part in the fair. İSTAÇ, another IMM subsidiary operating in the field of Environment and Waste Management, also participated.
At the opening ceremony, attended by Izmir Mayor Tunç Soyer, presentations on environmental and recycling technologies were made. Following the opening, Tunç Soyer visited the stands of IMM subsidiaries Istanbul Enerji and İSTAÇ and held meetings.
Local Governments Must Make Transportation, Energy, and Environmental Planning a Core Part of Energy Management Processes
On the second day of the fair, our General Manager Yüksel Yalçın delivered a presentation titled “Energy Investment and Management in Industrial Facilities and Commercial Buildings” at a panel attended by Izmir industrialists and businesspeople. In his speech, Yalçın highlighted the relationship between climate, environment, and energy, sharing insights on self-sufficient buildings, energy transition, carbon footprint, and carbon credit practices.
Yalçın emphasized the need for Environmental and Energy Management units to be incorporated into local governments as structured departments, ensuring implementation at an institutional and sustainable level. He also presented our SECAP – Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan studies with municipalities, underlining that these projects are carried out in collaboration with our certified expert engineers and academics. Addressing industrialists, Yalçın strongly recommended the urgent implementation of rooftop solar power systems (GES) to reduce the rapidly increasing energy costs.
We Signed a Cooperation Protocol with İzenerji
At the fair, we signed a cooperation protocol with İzenerji, the energy subsidiary of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, aimed at sharing knowledge and experience in energy technology project applications.
The protocol, signed by our General Manager Yüksel Yalçın and İzenerji Chairman of the Board Ali Ercan Türkoğlu, formalized the relationship between the two companies. With this agreement, as two subsidiaries active in the energy sector, we will exchange expertise and collaborate on activities related to environment and energy in both cities. The cooperation will also extend to the energy supply companies within our organizations, İsetaş and İzetaş.
Our surface-mounted solar system and the MEK – Mobile Energy Tower, which generates power through its integrated solar panels and wind turbine, drew great interest from visitors at our stand.
We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
