A SECAP – Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan workshop meeting was organized in collaboration with Küçükçekmece Municipality and İstanbul Enerji. The workshop was attended by Küçükçekmece Deputy Mayor Faysal GÜLER, İstanbul Enerji A.Ş. General Manager Yüksel YALÇIN, Yıldız Technical University Prof. Dr. Buket Ayşegül ÖZBAKIR, Yıldız Technical University Dr. Lecturer Erhan KURTARIR, neighborhood headmen, and officials from public institutions and organizations.
The program began with an opening speech by our General Manager Yüksel YALÇIN, highlighting key topics for a more climate-conscious Küçükçekmece. The workshop covered subjects such as the Adverse Effects of Climate Change, History of Climate Plans, Turkey’s Greenhouse Gas Emission Distribution, the Küçükçekmece SECAP Process, and Greenhouse Gas Emission Classes and Scopes.
During the meeting, participants were divided into groups to provide their input on three main areas for the SECAP workshop: Transportation, Energy, and Waste. Their ideas and suggestions were collected under each category with the help of a table coordinator. Each table then selected one spokesperson to present the compiled ideas to all participants, ensuring that everyone could hear the perspectives from each group.
We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
