**“Climate Gatherings” in Trabzon: Water, Food, and Energy Solutions Discussed for a Sustainable Future

The “Climate Gatherings” symposium, organized by the Trabzon Ortahisar Municipality and UPV – Country Policies Foundation, was held in Trabzon focusing on the themes of water, food, and energy. The event, which highlighted the role of local governments in combating climate change, brought together numerous experts in the field. Our CEO, Dr. Yüksel Yalçın, delivered a presentation titled “Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) and Local Governments’ Energy Vision,” explaining how cities can achieve a greener future through sustainable energy solutions.

In his presentation, Dr. Yalçın shared compelling examples of how renewable energy and climate actions can create a livable world for future generations. He addressed topics such as energy efficiency, the shift toward renewable energy sources, and the reduction of carbon emissions, emphasizing that SECAP projects serve as an important guide supporting local governments’ climate action plans. Yalçın stated, “The commitment of our local governments to sustainable energy policies plays a critical role in building environmentally friendly and livable cities across Turkey,” highlighting that energy management is a fundamental element of cities’ future visions.

Throughout the symposium, discussions on water, food, and energy examined the impacts of climate change and sustainable solutions. Recommendations were provided under topics such as efficient water use, sustainable agricultural production, and energy management, aiming to enhance the resilience of cities and communities. The importance of addressing climate change not only at the local but also at the national level was stressed, emphasizing the need for collaboration among local governments in taking these actions.

We extend our gratitude to Ortahisar Mayor Mr. Ahmet Kaya, UPV President Mr. Doğan Subaşı, and the organizing committee for their hospitality at this valuable event. As Istanbul Energy, we will continue our efforts to build a green and sustainable future at both local and national levels. We remain committed to expanding projects that implement renewable energy and climate actions to ensure our cities embrace an environmentally friendly vision.

We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
