We held the closing program for the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) signed between İstanbul Enerji and Çorlu Municipality on 22.03.2022. As part of the program, we delivered the SECAP final report, which serves as a roadmap for Çorlu in combating climate change.
Upon receiving the SECAP final report, Çorlu Municipality, like many other municipalities in the Marmara Municipalities Union, began the Green Transformation in the city by collaborating with sector leader İstanbul Enerji.
The meeting, held at the Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry meeting hall, was attended by Çorlu Mayor Ahmet Sarıkurt, our İstanbul Enerji A.Ş. General Manager Yüksel Yalçın, EU+ Energy Transition: Covenant of Mayors Western Balkans and Turkey Project Leader Daiva Matoniene, Yıldız Technical University’s Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Özbakır and Asst. Prof. Dr. Erhan Kurtarır, as well as the project team, Çorlu Municipality Zero Waste and Climate Change Directorate, Çorlu Municipality Strategy Development Directorate, faculty members, neighborhood heads, and representatives of civil society organizations involved as project stakeholders.
Additionally, with the announcement of the action plan, Çorlu Municipality earned the right to become an observer municipality by ranking among the first 20 municipalities within the framework of the “Energy Transition Covenant of Mayors in the European Union, Western Balkans, and Turkey” project.
We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
