Sustainable Energy Seminar in Çatalca: Change for the Future, Transform for Nature

Aiming to contribute to Istanbul’s sustainability vision, the seminar “Change for the Future with Sustainable Energy, Transform for Nature,” organized by Çatalca Municipality, was held at Çatalca Millet Garden with wide participation.

Our General Manager, Dr. Yüksel Yalçın, served as the moderator of the seminar, while speakers included Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council Member and Chair of the Environment, Renewable Energy, and Climate Change Commission Gökhan Taneri Vural, Çatalca Mayor Erhan Güzel, and journalist-author Cem Seymen.

Participants emphasized the steps needed to combat the climate crisis, the importance of energy efficiency policies, and the necessity of expanding zero-waste practices. Particular attention was drawn to the role of individual awareness and collaboration with local administrations in this transformation process.

In his opening speech, our General Manager Dr. Yüksel Yalçın stated:

“A sustainable future is possible not only through institutional policies but also through the joint effort of all segments of society. Today, we are gathered here to discuss how green transformation can create a strong impact starting locally and to take ownership of this process together.”

Throughout the seminar, participants were engaged not only with information but also with practical experiences. Topics ranged from renewable energy technologies and waste management to energy efficiency and individual environmental responsibility, all discussed with up-to-date data, field examples, and proposed solutions.

This gathering was evaluated not just as a one-time event but as a strong step nurturing social awareness within Istanbul’s environmental transformation vision. Participants reached a consensus that such local knowledge-sharing initiatives should also be implemented in other districts of Istanbul.

As Istanbul Enerji, we are not only an institution that produces and manages energy but also a partner committed to promoting a culture of sustainable living. We continue to support Istanbul’s goal of becoming a climate-friendly city not only through technical investments but also through human engagement, adding value to nature, society, and the future.

We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
