Members of the Silivri Industrialists and Businessmen Association (SİAD) visited İstanbul Energy’s Silivri Seymen Energy Production facility. Following a presentation by İstanbul Energy General Manager Yüksel Yalçın, participants were taken on a technical site tour and provided with detailed information about the facility.
İstanbul Energy General Manager Yüksel Yalçın shared insights with the members of Silivri Industrialists and Businessmen Association regarding energy investments and management in industrial facilities. In particular, in light of recent energy price hikes, he emphasized the importance of managing energy expenses in industrial facilities through technical methods, minimizing costs, and implementing the necessary organizational measures and related initiatives.
Invest in Solar Energy Instead of Paying Bills!
Yalçın evaluated the “self-generating building” approach, highlighting how rooftop solar energy systems in industrial facilities can contribute to businesses’ electricity consumption and the efficient methods for implementing these investments.
Following the meeting, it was agreed to establish an energy desk within Silivri SİAD to support broader awareness and education for industrial members, and a cooperation protocol between İstanbul Energy and Silivri Industrialists and Businessmen Association was signed.
Once Completed, the Facility Will Be the World’s Largest Single-Center Energy Production Plant
After Yalçın’s briefing, participants toured İstanbul Energy’s Silivri Seymen Biomass Energy Plant on-site, receiving technical explanations about the facility’s operations and technological investments. Yalçın provided detailed technical information about the plant’s capacity increases: from 17 MW in November 2020, to 25 MW in December 2020, and 37 MW by October 2021. With the opening of the new service building in 2022, the plant will operate at 45 MW, and once fully completed, it will reach 90 MW capacity, making it the largest single-center energy production facility in the world.
Industrialists and business members received information on the contribution of the latest technological investments to the plant’s energy capacity and related ongoing projects before leaving the facility.
Silivri Industrialists and Businessmen Association President Mr. Hakan Kocabaş shared his thoughts in İstanbul Energy’s guestbook. İstanbul Energy and SİAD look forward to being long-term partners in energy solutions.
We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
