**Dr. Yüksel Yalçın: “Silivri’s Future is in Renewable Energy”

During his speech, Istanbul Energy CEO Dr. Yüksel Yalçın highlighted Silivri’s journey toward carbon neutrality:

"Our goal is to create a Silivri with zero carbon emissions by 2050. To achieve this, all of our energy must come from renewable sources. Currently, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality obtains more than 60% of its total energy consumption from renewable energy. By 2030, we aim for Istanbul to produce its own energy needs. Through our collaboration with Silivri Municipality, we have developed a comprehensive action plan for the district’s sustainable energy future. This plan aims to reduce carbon emissions by 40% by 2030 and achieve a fully carbon-neutral Silivri by 2050."

**Tan Hüseyin Kıroğlu: “We Will Uphold the SECAP Plan”

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Mayor Tan Hüseyin Kıroğlu emphasized the municipality’s commitment to taking decisive steps under the SECAP framework. Kıroğlu stated that the municipality is fully aware of its responsibilities in environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation and will make intensive efforts to achieve the targets ahead of schedule. He stressed that all municipal units will work in coordination and cooperation to ensure the plan’s success and highlighted that SECAP is not only a governance policy but also a broad societal responsibility. Kıroğlu also thanked the individuals and institutions who contributed to the preparation of the plan on behalf of Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, noting that efforts to protect the environment and leave a more livable world for future generations will continue without interruption.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the continuation of the successful cooperation between Silivri Municipality and Istanbul Energy.

We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
