The 111th anniversary of electricity’s arrival in Istanbul was commemorated with a panel organized in collaboration with the Istanbul Branch of the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) and the Perpa Trade Center. This special event, which examined the historical journey of electricity in Istanbul in detail, also addressed energy transformation from the past to the present and discussed future energy policies.
In his speech at the panel, our CEO Dr. Yüksel Yalçın highlighted the transformation processes in the energy infrastructure and emphasized the importance of sustainable energy policies. Addressing topics such as green transformation, energy management, and urban-scale energy security, Yalçın shared valuable insights on strategic steps needed in Istanbul’s energy infrastructure.
The panel explored the arrival of electricity in Istanbul from both technical and historical perspectives, while providing comprehensive evaluations of changes in the energy sector and future trends. Critical topics such as reshaping cities through energy use, integrating renewable energy sources, and implementing energy efficiency policies were among the key issues discussed with participants.
We extend our gratitude to EMO Istanbul Branch, Perpa Trade Center, and all participants for their contributions to this meaningful event. Inspired by Istanbul’s energy history, we continue our efforts to move confidently toward the city’s sustainable energy future.
We are striving to implement energy investments and programs in line with sustainable, technological, and clean energy policies, primarily with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as the public and private sectors.
