İETT Stops Lighting Systems with Solar Power

LED lighting systems that could operate relying on solar power independent from the electrical grid have been installed in 1000 bus stops in all over Istanbul. Furthermore, energy efficient LED lighting systems providing natural lighting fed from the electrical grid have been installed in 2000 stops.

The LED Lighting System with Solar Power installed provides bright stops that Istanbul merits responding the energy requirement of the bus stop for 3 days even on the days that lack the sun.

The total installed power of Solar Power Systems installed in İETT stops in all over Istanbul is 240 kW and 1.000 flexible solar panels of 110 Wp and 500 Polycrystal solar panels of 260 Wp have been used in the project.

The Solar Power Plants installed in İETT stops in all over Istanbul have a power that could respond the annual electricity requirement of 202 households and prevent 163,9 tons carbon dioxide emission annually. This provides environmental benefit equivalent to withdrawal of 135 vehicles from the traffic or planting 4.205 trees.
